BlueTrain Privacy Policy
Web Conferencing Policy Summary
At BlueTrain, we recognize that privacy is an important issue, so we design and operate our services with the protection of your privacy in mind. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of personal information we gather when you use BlueTrain's services, as well as some of the steps we take to safeguard it. In summary, any and all information collected at this site will not be used in ways that you have not specifically consented to.
The following principles apply to the personally identifying information we ask for and that you provide. "Personally identifying information" is information that individually identifies you, such as your name, physical address or e-mail address.
Information Sharing
We do not rent or sell your personally identifying information to other companies or individuals.
Opt-In Policy Based
All functionalities and services provided by the website are opt-in based.
Web Conferencing Data Collection
BlueTrain collects limited non-personally identifying information your browser makes available whenever you visit a website. This log information includes your Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your query and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser. We use this information to operate, develop and improve our services.
Member Account Security
We have taken appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. For example, account passwords are stored in an encrypted format, ensuring that you, and only you, know your password. We also provide member logon warnings; when you log on incorrectly, an e-mail is sent to your e-mail address identifying the IP address used, and the date and time at which the unsuccessful logon occurred. And we also provide mechanisms for updating and correcting your personally identifying information for all of our services. In summary, we know of no other web conferencing provider that has expended as much effort to ensure your account information remains private and confidential.
Telephone Privacy
Your account telephone number is used only by BlueTrain for contact purposes; it is never exposed on our website. You also have the option of defining an additional phone number (for use in scheduled meetings), to enable your participants to call in. By providing such, you agree that the information provided can be displayed on our website within your meeting listing.
E-mail Privacy
E-mail addresses provided are used ONLY for the stated purpose. E-mail addresses are not provided to any third party what-so-ever. In addition to this strict policy, consideration has also been given to prevent and confuse electronic e-mail harvesting programs which try to collect e-mail addresses from our web pages. Since we do NOT display your e-mail address on our system (yet we allow people to e-mail or SMS message you), and since we also require human verification for all member contact submissions, our pages do not generate spam nor unwanted SMS messages.
E-Mail Correspondence
To provide a complete service, the BlueTrain system provides the capability for people to invite other people to meetings. Meeting e-mail invitations contain links (which you must click) to request to be reminded of the meeting in various manners (e-mail, OutLook integration, Lotus Notes integration, SMS text message). Our system also enables you to receive inquiries about a meeting you are hosting or have scheduled (BlueTrain tunnels the e-mail from a person with a question such as I forgot the meeting password or I am interested in enrolling in your event, etc). Our contact feature is spam-bot-submission and spam-harvester proof, your e-mail address never appears on our website. The BlueTrain system also allows you to send invitations to people requesting them to enroll in your event. If you receive an enrollment invitation, an option is provided to never receive an invitation from that person. After participating in a meeting, the meeting host may select an option which sends you an e-mail requesting you to complete a meeting evaluation form (for assessment purposes). When using the system, members who have made a purchase may receive automated e-mails (such as a low time balance notice or a seat plan expiry notice) which informs you that your account may become disabled if you do not renew your seat plan or purchase more time. Expiry or low time reminders are sent twice only (eg: about to expire / has expired). BlueTrain sends members one (1) thank you e-mail when an account is created. BlueTrain may also send notices relating to major product releases or website feature changes but we try to keep such to a bare minimum, usually no more than once per year. BlueTrain also provides a feature to disable your account which results in permanent removal and 0 further e-mail correspondence.
